Is RealPlayer spying on you?

If you choose the right options while (or after) installing RealPlayer, you won´t get in trouble.
You just have to click through the preferences...
Surfin´the www is always a security (privacy) risk. Anti Virus-, Firewall- and Anti Spy Software is recommended.
If you want to be anonymous, you have to use a proxy (decreasing down- and upload speed)

Good advise Lurker, but I cant find any options to stop realcheck.exe

My main objetion to RealPlayer is that it continually wants to do more that play a video clip. Even when I have it tweaked the way I like it, I know from experience that one day, it will refuse to play a video clip untill I download the latest update.

Interestingly, the download for RealPlayer 10 is 12.2MB and the Real Alternative 184 is only 6.45MB.

I think that adding it to the round filing cabinet was the best move.

I agree. Real Alternative is a real alternative!

If you want to convert *.rm into *.avi try TRINA. It´s freeware. "Google" for it or click this link:

It works with RealPlayer 8 and Real Alternative. It won`t work with RealPlayer 10!
The results are averaged (you can´t make gold out of shit...)
